APC

PUBLICATION FEES

Editorial Unión Científica applies a publication fee structure, known as APC (Article Processing Charge), to cover the costs related to editing, design, layout, and dissemination of the works. These fees are determined once the manuscript has passed the double-blind peer review process and help sustain our open access model while ensuring the quality of the publications.

Fee structure

  • Books and monographs: The fee varies based on the number of pages, the complexity of the design, and any additional resources required, such as graphics, tables, or high-resolution images.

  • Book chapters and articles: Reduced charges apply for chapters in collective works or serial books.

Exemptions and discounts

Editorial Unión Científica offers partial or full fee exemptions for authors with economic limitations or from vulnerable sectors, particularly those from institutions in developing countries or with limited funding. These requests are evaluated on a case-by-case basis, always aiming to support the dissemination of knowledge without compromising editorial quality.

Discounts are also available for authors affiliated with institutions that have collaboration agreements with Editorial Unión Científica.

Included in the fees

The publication fees cover the following services:

  • Similarity detection.
  • Layout and cover design.
  • Assignment of an ISBN and/or DOI.
  • Dissemination on digital platforms and academic repositories.

Transparency and accountability

Editorial Unión Científica is committed to maintaining a transparent fee policy, ensuring that the charges reflect only the services provided. We encourage authors to contact us with any questions or to request detailed information about the applicable fees for their publication.

This policy aims to balance the financial sustainability of our operations with the promotion of universal access to scientific knowledge.

Editorial independence

At Editorial Unión Científica, we ensure that all editorial decisions are based exclusively on the quality, originality, and scientific, academic, and technical relevance of the manuscripts, following a rigorous peer review process. The payment of publication fees (APC) does not influence, in any way, the acceptance or rejection of a work.

Our commitment is to academic integrity and scientific excellence, which means that:

  • Manuscripts are evaluated impartially, considering only their scientific, academic, and technical merit.

  • The peer review process is independent and anonymous.

  • Authors are informed of the editorial decision before any payment request is made.

The publication fee policy is only applied to manuscripts accepted for publication, and its purpose is to cover costs related to editorial processes and to ensure open access to knowledge.
